The FIDO Alliance has announced the dates for its third annual Authenticate conference. Authenticate 2022 will run from October 17 to 19 at the Sheraton Grand in Seattle, Washington, and will also take place online for those who do not want to make the trip to be there in person.
This is the second time that the Alliance has hosted Authenticate as an in-person event. The inaugural Authenticate took place virtually in 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19. Last year’s event, on the other hand, introduced the live and online hybrid format that the Alliance will be employing again in 2022. That iteration of Authenticate drew more than 650 attendees, who had access to 70 sessions and 25 exhibitor booths during the course of the event.
The FIDO Alliance is now putting out an open call for speakers as it looks to build on that success. The organization is hoping to find a diverse group of experts from all over the world, and is specifically searching for vendor-agnostic presenters that can address the latest authentication trends. Those talks can highlight case studies, or take the form of educational sessions that inform guests about new technical developments, implementation best practices, and the evolving international regulatory environment.
Those who are interested in presenting have until March 15 to submit their applications. The Alliance will give priority to pitches with a unique perspective that is grounded in expertise, though it is ultimately willing to consider any presentation topic that touches on authentication.
Google, Microsoft, Visa, and Yubico will serve as the Signature Sponsors for Authenticate 2022, though other sponsorship opportunities are available to businesses that want to be more involved with the event. A representative from each of the four Signature Sponsors was a keynote speaker at Authenticate 2021. FIDO, meanwhile, launched a new Online Authentication Barometer to track the public’s shifting perspectives on the subject.
