The FIDO Alliance is sharing more details about its 2021 Authenticate event now that the date is getting closer. The conference is scheduled to run from October 18-20 at the Motif hotel in Seattle, with both in-person and virtual participation options for those interested in attending.
Now the Alliance has published a full agenda to let guests know more about what they can expect from the event. Authenticate is geared toward identity industry stakeholders, and will serve as a forum for those who want to know more about technical and general best practices, and about the factors that are driving the authentication business.
With that in mind, the event will include case studies from companies like Capital One, Facebook, Google, Morgan Stanley, Target, and Verizon, all of whom will be discussing their experiences after deploying a new authentication system. Other highlights include discussions about FIDO’s own authentication specifications, and the broader international policy landscape. With regards to the former, the conversation will cover biometric and IoT identity verification. In the case of the latter, it will feature input from those involved in the financial services, government, and commercial sectors.
“Relying on passwords is passé,” said FIDO Alliance Executive Director and CMO Andrew Shikiar. “The Alliance encourages organizations of all sizes to prioritize stronger security, and it is our mission to share the tools and resources to help them get there. This year’s agenda delivers on that mission, providing attendees with a strong foundation for deploying simpler, stronger authentication.”
The Authenticate schedule includes more than 45 in-person sessions and another 20+ on-demand sessions. All of those sessions will be available to all registered guests, though they will need to make the trip to Seattle to take full advantage of the in-person programming, and to visit an expo hall that will feature upwards of 20 sponsor booths.
Last year’s inaugural Authenticate conference took place virtually due to COVID-19. Meanwhile, FIDO announced the 2021 keynote speakers back in July. Early-bird pricing for this year’s event is available to those who register before September 3.
