The FIDO Alliance has revealed its list of keynote speakers for the upcoming Authenticate event in Seattle, Washington. Authenticate 2021 is set to run from October 18-20 at the Motif hotel.
The featured keynote speakers will be Bob Lord, Dave Kleidermacher, Joy Chik, David Henstock, and Stina Ehrensvard. Lord is the former Chief Security Officer for the Democratic National Committee, while Kleidermacher is Google’s VP of Engineering, Privacy, and Android Security. Chik is Microsoft’s Corporate VP for Identity, Henstock is the Head of Identity and Authentication at VISA, and Ehrensvard is the Co-founder and CEO of Yubico.
The Alliance is yet to disclose the specifics for those keynote discussions, though it noted that Authenticate speakers will be covering a wide range of topics related to FIDO authentication. The event will provide attendees with tips for implementation, and cover the latest industry trends, tools, case studies, and best practices, in addition to regulatory standards.
“We look forward to welcoming our keynote speakers to the Authenticate stage to share their vision and experience in moving to modern and secure FIDO Authentication,” said FIDO Alliance Executive Director and CMO Andrew Shikiar. “After a year of increasingly severe data breaches and user login frustrations, each speaker brings a unique perspective and insight on easing the adoption of simpler, stronger and standards-based authentication.”
Authenticate 2021 will be the first in-person Authenticate event, after COVID-19 forced the Alliance to switch to a virtual format for its inaugural show in 2020. This year’s show will include a live expo hall with booths from more than 20 sponsors, and will be carried out in accordance with local health and safety guidelines. The Alliance will also build on the success of its Virtual Authenticate series and offer on-demand and remote Authenticate experiences for those that do not want to make the trip to Seattle to be there in-person.
