Huawei is using a Fingerprint Cards sensor in another new offering in its Honor line of mobile devices. The Honor WaterPlay features an FPC1145 fingerprint sensor.
It’s a tablet device, and as the name suggests, its IP67-rated water resistance is a key marketing point. Other features of the tablet include a 10.1″ QXGA display, a Kirin 659 processor, Harman Kardon audio, and an Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
As for its fingerprint sensor, it is embedded in the tablet’s home button. In a statement announcing its sensor integration, FPC commented, “With its very thin outline it is often seen on the side of product, but now in Huawei Honor Waterplay it has been beautifully designed as a home button on the front side.”
News of the integration comes immediately after FPC announced last week that its FPC1028 sensor is being used in the Huawei Honor 7X smartphone.
