Samsung has launched a software update for its Gear S3 smartwatch featuring refined fitness tracking and enhanced security features.
On the biometric side of things, users now have access to a more intuitive interface in the Samsung Health app in terms of how it breaks down their fitness data. The system divides users’ biometric data into color-coded heart rate zones, indicating different phases of a workout routine by their level of intensity.
As for security, user can add contact information to their Find My Gear function. That means that if a given smartwatch goes missing, a user can lock it remotely, and that contact information will be displayed on the lock screen.
The enhancements arrive alongside a voice command feature for setting alerts in the Reminders app, more readability options for the visually impaired, and various refinements to the user interface.
