Growth consultancy firm Frost & Sullivan has recognized Gemalto with the 2018 Global Digital Banking Solutions Company of the Year Award, the company has announced.
The award is primarily in recognition of Gemalto’s Digital Banking Suite, a platform designed to provide financial services companies with multi-factor authentication, behavioral analytics, encryption, and other security tools for their mobile apps. In a statement announcing the award, Frost & Sullivan Mobile and Wireless Team VP Brent Iadarola explained that “[b]anks are in the midst of a major paradigm shift in their traditional service models as customers fully digitize their financial lives,” and that Gemalto’s Digital Banking Suite “addresses this dilemma”.
In its statement, Frost & Sullivan also highlighted Gemalto’s smartphone-based eID solutions, which offer PIN- or fingerprint-based authentication security; and its Live Face Identification System, which the company said is capable of performing facial recognition in under one second.
The recognition arrives after a couple of big announcements from Gemalto over the last two weeks, with the company disclosing that it had been selected to upgrade driver’s licenses issued by Alaska’s Division of Motor Vehicles, and that its technology would be used in Italy’s first biometric payment card trial.
