Gemalto’s ODC Becomes First to Get GSMA eSIM Accreditation

August 3, 2017

Gemalto‘s On-Demand Connectivity service has become the first in the world to offer full compliance with the GSMA’s Security Accreditation Scheme for embedded SIM solutions, the company has announced.Gemalto's ODC Becomes First to Get GSMA eSIM Accreditation

The certification attests to the security measures taken by Gemalto in the production of eSIMs, the handling of their data, and the subscription service management in general.

In a statement announcing the new accreditation, Gemalto emphasized its applications in the industrial IoT, automotive solutions, and consumer electronics. Commenting further, Gemalto Mobile and IoT Services SVP David Buhan asserted that the certification demonstrates “Gemalto’s leadership and commitment to implementing rigorous security measures that extend from the core to the very edge.”

The GSMA certification should add to Gemalto’s already considerable momentum in promoting its On-Demand Connectivity solution, which was been embraced by multiple major telecoms this year including AT&T, SoftBank, and, most recently, Telefónica.
