Glomo Awards Reflect Importance of Mobile Tech Across Range of Sectors

March 2, 2017

This year’s Mobile World Congress is coming to a close today, and the GSMA is sending its congratulations to the various winners of the 2017 Glomo Awards, which were presented throughout the four-day event.

Glomo Awards Reflect Importance of Mobile Tech Across Range of Sectors
According to the GSMA’s David Pollington, in an interview with Mobile ID World, Mobile Connect now boasts addressable base of 3 billion users.

The range of award-winning mobile products and services highlighted the variety seen in MWC itself. The growing importance of digital security was reflected in Samsung SDS’s win for Best Mobile Security or Anti-Fraud Solution award with its Samsung Mobile Security Management Suite, and in Orange and Danal Inc.’s Mobile Connect Award for Authentication & Identity with their Check & Go MC solution.

Meanwhile, the emergence of next-generation connectivity was reflected in Huawei’s award for Outstanding Contribution for LTE Evolution to 5G, while the rising prominence of mobile technology in smart cars was indicated in the Best Mobile Innovation for Automotive award, which went to Cisco Jasper Control Center for Connected Cars. And EcoNet Wireless and Mahindra Comviva bore the flag for the ongoing ascent of mobile payments, with their EcoCash platform winning Best Mobile Payment Solution.

In a statement, GSMA Chief Marketing Officer Michael O’Hara offered the organization’s congratulations to all Glomo winners, saying the awards “truly showcase those companies and individuals that are driving innovation in the rapidly evolving mobile industry.”
