“Developed in collaboration with Phunware, the app leverages HID Location Services together with Phunware’s mobile software to offer an easy-to-use wayfinding app for patients and hospital visitors…”
HID Global is looking to make an impact with solutions based on its HID Location Services platform at this week’s HIMSS event in Orlando.
From its booth in the Orange County Convention Center, HID Global is showcasing a number of healthcare-focused offerings. The BEEKs Duress Badge, for example, is an alarm button that healthcare professionals can use to alert security to a given location within a hospital. Another solution combines HID Location Services with HID’s BLE module to monitor hand sanitizer dispensers throughout a hospital environment; while a collaboration with Emerson uses HID’s BLE sensors to monitor environmental temperatures in various hospital areas.
HID Global is also showcasing a new wayfinding app announced last week. Developed in collaboration with Phunware, the app leverages HID Location Services together with Phunware’s mobile software to offer an easy-to-use wayfinding app for patients and hospital visitors, making it easier for them to get to appointments and to make visits in notoriously confusing hospital complexes.
It’s also worth noting that Crossmatch, which HID Global acquired last year, announced this week that its fingerprint sensor technology is being used in a new laptop aimed at healthcare practitioners. That will give HID Global’s representatives even more to talk about as they show off the company’s healthcare-focused solutions from booth #4873 during the next couple of days of HIMSS 2019.
