“The aim is to give enterprises an easier means of accessing and configuring HID’s suite of IAM solutions, which includes VPNs, email encryption, document signing, strong authentication mechanisms, and more.”
HID Global has announced a new, subscription-based system for its identity and access management services.
Called HID ActivOne, it’s aimed primarily at large organizations, with a per-user fee structure. The aim is to give enterprises an easier means of accessing and configuring HID’s suite of IAM solutions, which includes VPNs, email encryption, document signing, strong authentication mechanisms, and more.
In a statement announcing the solution, HID Global IAM Solutions VP Brad Jarvis explained that its great benefit, with respect to HID’s previous IAM offerings, is its simplicity, since it gives clients “a complete end-to-end digital identity lifecycle management and advanced authentication solution with a simple per-user fee.” Jarvis added that its subscription fee structure offers enterprise customers “more choices based on the additional flexible pricing options that open up the power of HID’s IAM solutions to even more users.”
HID ActivOne’s announcement comes just a couple of weeks after the company’s launch of Crescendo Mobile, a solution that is designed to essentially create a virtual security key on a user’s smartphone. As with the authentication solutions entailed in HID ActivOne, Crescendo Mobile can act as a strong authentication alternative to the traditional password, which HID Global calls “the largest single threat vector” in digital security.
