“Skanska’s integration of HID Mobile Access into their mobile platform is a perfect example of how organizations are leveraging the power of mobile credentials and the cloud to realize the full potential of creating a connected and more intuitive experience for their users, while increasing security at the same time.” -Hilding Arrehed, Vice President of Cloud Services, Physical Access Control, HID Global
HID Global‘s mobile access control technology is now being used to secure a major new office building in Warsaw.
Called Spark, the building is 70,000 square meters, and is the corporate home of the Skanska construction group as well as other tenants. Skanska worked with systems integrator Sharry Europe to develop a custom access control system for the building, and it incorporates HID Mobile Access, allowing tenants to access the building just by tapping their NFC- or BLE-enabled iOS and Android devices against Spark’s iCLASS SE readers.
But it does more than just allowing workers and tenants to access the building. As Skanska Innovation Manager Renata Nowakowska explained in a statement announcing the deployment, “In one application, we have integrated all building applications, such as parking, virtual reception and other Internet of Things functionality, bringing the whole user experience to a new level.”
News of the high-profile deployment comes after the HID Mobile Access solution received ISO 27001 certification earlier this year. It also arrives on the heels of two major new appointments to the HID Global executive team, underlining the company’s growth.
