Bengaluru-based HyperVerge has successfully met all benchmarks in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate’s (DHS S&T) Remote Identity Validation Technology Demonstration (RIVTD) Track 2 assessment.
This achievement distinguishes HyperVerge as the only participant to fully meet the rigorous standards set by the program, which is designed to evaluate the effectiveness of remote identity verification systems in preventing identity fraud.
RIVTD Track 2 focuses on the ability of software systems to verify identities by comparing images on identity documents with selfie photos, with a particular emphasis on detecting imposters using genuine but lost or stolen IDs. The assessment provides an objective platform to measure the performance of these systems against sophisticated fraud attempts. Among the sixteen firms that participated in the testing, HyperVerge excelled by achieving an error rate of less than 1 percent.
This accomplishment follows HyperVerge’s strong performance in previous National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Face Recognition Vendor Tests (FRVT). In 2022, the company ranked 7th globally in the NIST FRVT 1:1 leaderboard and 2nd in the Border Images Benchmark of the NIST FRVT 1:1. It also ranked 5th globally in the NIST FRVT 1Investigation Track and 8th in the FRVT 1Identification Leaderboard. In 2023, HyperVerge maintained its top rankings in these categories.
Co-Founder and CTO Vignesh Krishnakumar, along with CEO Kedar Kulkarni, emphasized that the results from the DHS RIVTD assessment underscore HyperVerge’s commitment to enhancing security and accuracy in identity verification. Kulkarni noted, “We are constantly seeking ways to make identity verification safer, faster, and more affordable for our clients across the world.”
