“In addition to South Africa, Laxton’s authentication solutions have already been deployed in Guinea, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe (amongst other countries), which further demonstrates the growing interest in biometric technology.”
Laxton Group is bringing the Chameleon D to South Africa. The newly announced multimodal desktop device is the latest addition to the company’s Chameleon line of products, and will be on display at this week’s ID4Africa conference in Johannesburg.
Laxton Group was originally founded in South Africa in 2004, making the event a bit of a homecoming for the biometric solutions provider. The company has opened several international offices in the years since, and has also established itself as a major player in the African market. Laxton is particularly well known as a provider of biometric voter registration technology that has been used for elections and national identity databases.
The company’s presence at ID4Africa will advance identity movements across the continent as more and more countries adopt biometric identity systems. In addition to South Africa, Laxton’s authentication solutions have already been deployed in Guinea, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe (amongst other countries), which further demonstrates the growing interest in biometric technology.
ID4Africa runs from June 18-20 at the Emperors Palace Convention Centre in Johannesburg. The Chameleon D will be on display throughout the event at Booth F01. FindBiometrics will be on site with live coverage of the event, including Laxton Group’s Chameleon D.
