IDEMIA Public Security North America and CertiPath have formed a strategic partnership to integrate digital identity solutions, combining IDEMIA’s identity verification technology with CertiPath’s TrustVisitor platform. The collaboration aims to enhance identity verification processes in high-security environments such as federal agencies, critical infrastructure facilities, and military installations. This partnership builds on IDEMIA’s extensive experience in government identity solutions, including its successful mobile ID implementations in states like Oklahoma and its recent field testing of mobile driver’s licenses in West Virginia.
The partnership integrates IDEMIA’s Identity and Verification (ID&V) technology, which provides comprehensive document authentication including digital tampering detection, document identification, font anomaly detection, liveness detection, and face capture capabilities. The ID&V solution has received certification from the Kantara Initiative for compliance with NIST SP 800-63 rev. 3 Component Service at Identity Assurance Level 2 (IAL2). This certification is particularly significant as it aligns with federal government standards for identity verification, which are increasingly crucial for accessing government services and secure facilities.
CertiPath’s TrustVisitor solution, a web-based visitor management system designed for federal agencies, ensures FICAM compliance while streamlining the visitor verification process. The integration enables verification of individuals and visitors for high-assurance facilities while maintaining an efficient user experience. This development comes as federal agencies continue to strengthen their identity and access management protocols in accordance with evolving security requirements.
As part of the implementation, CertiPath will utilize IDEMIA’s Mobile ID (miD) Verify SDK to authenticate mobile driver’s licenses. The SDK has achieved certification to the ISO 18013 Part 5 mobile driving license application standard and has undergone testing by UL Solutions. IDEMIA’s mobile ID technology has already demonstrated its effectiveness through successful deployments with major technology partners like Samsung in Arizona.
“Integrating with both IDEMIA’s IAL2 identity proofing service and their mDL verification capability allows us to upgrade our visitor identity confidence before they arrive without sacrificing visitor user experience,” explained CertiPath Founder and CEO Jeff Nigriny. “Furthermore, mobile driver’s licenses provide an even stronger assurance of identity than physical driver’s licenses and that is the business TrustVisitor is in.”
Donnie Scott, CEO of IDEMIA Public Security North America, emphasized the importance of next-generation technology in verifying physical and digital IDs for access to government buildings and regulated environments, highlighting visitor management as a crucial security component. Under Scott’s leadership, IDEMIA has continued to expand its digital identity solutions, including major contracts with state governments for innovative ID services.
