IDEMIA will be giving guests the full VIP treatment at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month. The company has announced that it will be showcasing its ARENA Experience during the event, offering a glimpse at the stadium of the future and demonstrating how biometrics will transform the live event business in the next few years.
The ARENA Experience accounts for every step from the ticket purchase to the event itself, and is designed to make the entire process more convenient and more secure. On game day, biometric technology like mobile facial recognition will speed up security checkpoints. Meanwhile, the ability to link a credit card to a biometrically secured account will allow guests to order concessions and confirm purchases without ever having to leave their seats.
“Nowadays, even an everyday experience such as going to a live event can highlight how important everyone’s identity really is in life,” said IDEMIA CEO Yann Delabrière. “Against this backdrop, we bring to market a vast array of innovations involving both the physical and digital space.”
The announcement comes after IDEMIA recently enhanced its selfie authentication capabilities through a partnership with Onfido, further strengthening what was already one of the payments industry’s leading authentication platforms.
Guests at MWC19 will also get a behind-the-scenes look at the technology powering IDEMIA’s system at the company’s booth, 6H30 in Hall 6. The event is scheduled to run from February 25th to 28th in Barcelona.
