“IDEMIA’s solution is a mobile application that is designed to leverage one of two biometric factors for user authentication…”
IDEMIA has come out a winner in Juniper Research’s Future Digital Awards. Its CloudCard+ solution took the top prize in the category of “Best Payment Authentication Platform/Solution”, ahead of runner-up Accertify and its Dynamic Risk Vectors solution.
IDEMIA’s solution is a mobile application that is designed to leverage one of two biometric factors for user authentication: The user can either scan their fingerprint or take a selfie, which is then scanned using facial recognition. The biometric authentication is combined with a PIN to enable highly secure digital transactions, with IDEMIA asserting that millions of people are already using the system to access PSD2-compliant banking services in France and to access government e-services in the UK through the GOV.UK Verify platform.
Commenting on the Future Digital Award win in a statement, IDEMIA marketing and innovation VP Nathalie Oestmann said her company “is thrilled and honored” to have been selected the winner. “Our ambition is to enable financial institutions to strike the perfect balance between digital security for banking and an optimal payment services user experience through the mobile channel,” she added.
IDEMIA’s win puts it alongside other big names in Juniper Research’s awards program, including Visa, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Google, and Amazon.
