“IDEMIA’s mobile PKI solution allows us to deliver value-enhancing services to our corporate customers before we turn to the consumer market with our future Mobile Connect package.”
IDEMIA is helping the Vietnamese mobile operator Vinaphone deliver Mobile Public Key Infrastructure in the country. According to the terms of their partnership, IDEMIA will specifically be providing digital signature and identity verification services, enabling more secure and user-friendly authentication on mobile devices.
The deal will make Vinaphone the only mobile operator providing such services in Vietnam. The rollout will give Vinaphone customers safer access to mobile channels like online retail and government services, and is expected to encourage the development and adoption of Vietnamese e-services more generally.
IDEMIA’s technology and expertise will also make it easier for Vinaphone to integrate the GSMA Mobile Connect platform in the future.
“Our top priority is to give customers watertight security and user-friendly services,” said Vinaphone Marketing and VAS Service Manager Le Toan Thang. “IDEMIA’s mobile PKI solution allows us to deliver value-enhancing services to our corporate customers before we turn to the consumer market with our future Mobile Connect package.”
The news comes shortly after Malaysia’s RHB Banking Group turned to IDEMIA’s Motion Code payment card solution, making Vinaphone the second major company to join forces with IDEMIA in Southeast Asia in the past few weeks. IDEMIA has also provided secure identity management services for several organizations in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
