IDEX Biometrics will attend the APSCA Digital Commerce Asia Pacific event in Malaysia next week, the company has announced.
The APSCA event offers an opportunity for the company to showcase its fingerprint sensor technology for dual-interface biometric payment cards to a financial services crowd, with IDEX having joined the Asia Pacific Smart Card Association last summer. And it’s another chance to further raise its profile in the emerging biometric payment cards market after IDEX established multiple important partnerships in this area toward the end of last year, and after rebranding its fingerprint sensor solutions under the name “SmartFinger”.
IDEX’s announcement comes alongside its debut of a new blog on “Biometrics for Financial Inclusion”, with CEO Stan Swearingen penning the first entry. In his post, Swearingen argues that as biometric authentication is increasingly embraced by the financial services industry, it will “mitigate the use of highly-vulnerable four-digit PINs but also enhance customer experience and broaden access to financial services.”
As for APSCA Digital Commerce Asia Pacific, the event will run from January 23rd to 24th in Kuala Lumpur; and IDEX says its Sales Durector, Hunter Hu, and Business Development Director, Grace Yang, will be its delegates at the event.
