“We are delighted to provide GoVerifyID to TV and movie producers, entertainment firms, studios, networks, production companies, post production houses, and other participants in the entertainment industry.” -Richard Blech, CEO, Secure Channels
Biometric technology may help to stop one of your favorite TV shows from getting spoiled with an unscheduled episode leak thanks to a new partnership between ImageWare Systems and Secure Channels, Inc.
The agreement brings ImageWare’s GoVerifyID biometric identity management platform to Secure Channels’ Entertainment Security Operations Center. The latter platform is designed to provide a centralized system for the secure management of assets from the entertainment industry, including works in progress. Now, everyone with authorized access to the ESOC will have their biometrics enrolled, allowing for biometric authentication whenever they seek to gain access to the secure environment; and to take things a step further, access will be handled through a central SOC housed in a Tier III data center, the companies say.
In a statement announcing the integration, Secure Channels CEO Richard Blech expressed his team’s enthusiasm for ImageWare’s biometric security, saying, “We are delighted to provide GoVerifyID to TV and movie producers, entertainment firms, studios, networks, production companies, post production houses, and other participants in the entertainment industry.”
ImageWare CEO Jim Miller, meanwhile, framed the development in terms of recent headlines, asserting that his firm’s solution “can mitigate devastating breaches like those that occurred with Sony and HBO.”
It won’t stop spoilers from appearing on your Twitter or Facebook feeds, but at least it will help to ensure that they only show up after a given episode has actually aired.
