Imprivata Unveils New Healthcare Digital Identity Framework

August 13, 2020

“…healthcare CISOs and IT departments will be able to use the Framework to map out a comprehensive digital identity strategy for their entire organization.”

Biometrics News: Imprivata Unveils New Healthcare Digital Identity Framework

Imprivata has unveiled a new Digital Identity Framework to help Healthcare organizations manage their identity requirements. The Framework breaks digital identity down into several key categories, which include governance and administration, identity management, authorization, and authentication and access control.

The system was designed with an eye towards the unique identity demands of the healthcare industry. According to Imprivata, healthcare CISOs and IT departments will be able to use the Framework to map out a comprehensive digital identity strategy for their entire organization. In that regard, the Framework will consolidate identity management under one centralized umbrella, which will hopefully make identity processes more efficient while boosting security.

“Our new framework shows our customers where existing IAM tools fit into a broader, more holistic approach to clinical workflows,” said Imprivata President and CEO Gus Malezis.

“A unified system will avoid the security and efficiency gaps of single-point, non-cohesive approaches and is especially important as we plan for post-pandemic operations based on remote care and rapid responsiveness to staffing shifts,” added Cambridge Health Alliance CISO Art Ream.

The Imprivata Digital Identity Framework builds on the work of organizations like H-ISAC, Gartner, and Microsoft, the latter of which announced a new partnership with Imprivata in April. Imprivata was listed as the top healthcare solution in a recent Black Book Survey, and previously stressed the importance of digital transformation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
