Indonesia is set to launch a limited release of its new digital government platform, INA Digital, by the end of September 2024. The platform includes three core services: INA Ku (public service portal), INA Gov (government administration portal), and INA Pas (digital identity system).
INA Ku will provide citizens with access to essential services such as healthcare and education, while INA Gov will streamline administrative processes for civil servants. INA Pas will serve as a single sign-on gateway, allowing users to securely access various government services through facial recognition and liveness detection.
The digital identity system operates on Indonesia’s existing IKD (Identitas Kependudukan Digital) infrastructure, managed by the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registry (Dukcapil).
Despite low activation rates, with only 3.8 percent of the population using IKD as of June, the government is optimistic about increased adoption, especially through integration with the SATUSEHAT health platform, which has over 100 million users.
In the first phase of the rollout, 50,000 users, including 10,000 civil servants and 40,000 public users, will test the system, providing feedback for improvements before a full release.
The initiative aims to enhance the transparency, efficiency, and accessibility of public services in Indonesia by centralizing digital applications and reducing reliance on standalone systems.
