“The Dragon Mobile Assistant app is a personal efficiency app designed to keep users organized and proactive. This newest version throws convenience and security into the mix too, making the whole experience hands free and personal with the most popular of invisible biometrics: voice recognition.”
Voice biometrics are perfectly suited for the smartphone. Like some of its fellow modalities, voice recognition can work with hardware that has already become integral to the device itself, so anyone with a smartphone potentially has a biometric device that can authenticate their voice print in their pocket right now.
Thanks to voice and language solutions provider Nuance Communications, Android users can have that capability for free starting today. The voice biometrics company has just announced that the new Dragon Mobile Assistant app – which now boasts Nuance Voice Print technology – is available through the Google Play store for free.
The Dragon Mobile Assistant app is a personal efficiency app designed to keep users organized and proactive. This newest version throws convenience and security into the mix too, making the whole experience hands free and personal with the most popular of invisible biometrics: voice recognition.
Thanks to Nuance Voice Print, Dragon Mobile Assistant is not just voice activated and controlled, it is designed to only respond to the designated user’s biometrically identified voice. The app can run in the background too, so non-app related commands and procedures can be performed via voice too. Unlock your phone from sleep, browse and share the Internet, make calls, send texts or email your contacts and don’t even worry about having to touch your smartphone.
“When designing Dragon Mobile Assistant, we decided that there were a few items we could not live without,” explains Michael Thompson, executive vice president and general manager of Nuance Mobile. “Among those at the top of this list are personalization and security. With that in mind, we created the latest version of Dragon Mobile Assistant featuring Nuance Voice Print – putting intelligence and simplicity at the forefront of the user experience.”
There are obvious benefits to accurately voice interfacing with a smartphone while at the same time being passively authenticated. Not only does this make the hands free experience more robust, particularly with the app’s Drive Mode experience, but it also can help ensure that a Dragon Mobile Assistant user is the only one who can access the app’s features, which in many cases can contain critical or personal data.
As a testament to the quality of Nuance’s voice biometrics, one need only look to U.S. Bank, who recently chose the company’s voice recognition for its account management app.
Any Android users that would like to give this solution a try can download Dragon Mobile Assistant for free from Google Play.
