The Security Industry Association (SIA) has announced a new webinar aimed at examining how regulatory and market demands for data privacy affect the physical security technology industry.
The conference — titled “Risk + Exposure: Part 1: The Growing Role of Data Protection in the Security Industry” — is, as the title would suggest, the first instalment in a two-part series that is being hosted by the SIA Data Privacy Advisory Board.
Earlier this week, SIA released its 2021 Megatrends report in which it identified the 10 key factors it believes are most likely to spur short and long-term growth in the security industry for the coming year. Input for its analysis for that report drew largely from the Security New Ground (SNG) virtual conference that happened over October 21-22.
Among the topics that will be addressed in the upcoming webinar are compliance requirements in the U.S. and around the world, some best practices for handling sensitive information, data privacy advice for brand enhancement and market differentiation, and a look at some of the unique privacy challenges faced by integrators and others in the security industry.
The webinar is scheduled for Thursday, November 5, beginning at 1:00pm Eastern Time. Registration is free and now open.
