Jumio has received a second 2019 award from the Business Intelligence Group. The Identity as a Service provider has announced that it has been named a winner in the inaugural BIG Artificial Intelligence Excellence Awards, an accolade that will pair nicely with the BIG Innovation Award Jumio received earlier in the year.
The Artificial Intelligence Excellence Awards are intended to honor companies that find innovative ways to solve real-world problems with AI. Jumio recently opened a new AI Lab in Montreal in an effort to boost the accuracy and speed of its identity verification platform, a move that underscores the importance of AI for the company’s award-winning anti-fraud solutions.
“We’ve spent the last several years developing AI models that help us to reliably extract key data from government-issued IDs, find anomalies in manipulated IDs, and ensure the person is physically present,” said Junio CTO and Chief Scientist Labhesh Patel. “Through our AI-powered technology, we are taking the necessary steps to fight fraud and dramatically speed up the identity verification process.”
The BIG Artificial Intelligence Excellence Award continues Jumio’s incredibly prolific start to 2019. The company cleaned up with four prizes at the 2019 Cybersecurity Excellence Awards, and was also recognized as one of the most innovative companies in the world by Fast Company.
