Meet the Newest Manufacturing Partner For Zwipe’s Biometric Payment Card Solution

September 14, 2020

Zwipe has found another manufacturing partner for its Zwipe Pay ONE biometric payment card solution.

Meet the Newest Manufacturing Partner For Zwipe's Biometric Payment Card Solution

Cardmatix is based in Dongguan, China, and specializes in industrial-scale card manufacturing and testing. Cardmatix is affiliated with Silone CardTech, a Shenzhen-based card manufacturer that Zwipe teamed up with back in the spring of 2018.

“We have cooperated closely with Zwipe through our sister company Silone Cardtech, and we are convinced the biometric payment card market is poised for mass-volume take-off,” explained Cardmatix CEO John Wu in a statement announcing the new partnership. “Our industrial solutions will make smart card manufacturers’ job of producing millions of biometric payment cards much more cost-efficient thanks to the unique insights shared by Zwipe’s technical team.”

It’s just the latest step in Zwipe’s ongoing efforts to shore up supply chain infrastructure for the commercialization of its biometric payment card technology. In the last month alone, the company announced that it had teamed up with Shenzhen-based Wisecard on EMV personalization, and that it had expanded its manufacturing partnership with France-based Smart Technology Services.

“This is an important step in preparing our supply chain and global capacity to meet future demand,” commented Zwipe CEO André Løvestam. “Cardmatix is one of the world’s most well-established high-volume card manufacturing equipment providers and we are excited to broaden our ability to serve our customers with their strong support.”

The announcement comes soon after Zwipe’s latest quarterly update, which illustrated a substantially improved year-over-year net result thanks in part to lower operating costs, and highlighted the emerging opportunities in the nascent biometric payment card market.
