In the mobile biometrics industry, Daon enjoys a particularly high profile. It was one of the first first and most important pioneers of software-based biometric authentication after Apple’s introduction of Touch ID kicked off the mobile biometric revolution – its multimodal IdentityX platform set the standard of success for mobile banking biometrics. And it continues to find success with new clients and accolades; just a few months ago, Javelin named it a Leader in its 2018 Mobile Biometrics Platform Awards.
Having established itself so thoroughly as a provider of mobile biometric authentication technology, at this year’s Mobile World Congress the company has been keen to showcase the latest addition to its IdentityX platform. As Daon’s EMEA Sales Director Colin O’Neill explained in a show-floor interview with Mobile ID World’s Susan Stover, the platform now supports biometrics-based digital onboarding, a feature that has been popular with banking customers and generated strong demand in the European market. O’Neill also discussed the “awesome year” his company has had, and plans for the future with respect to IdentityX’s latest new capability.
