Myriad New Phones Feature FPC Fingerprint Biometrics

Myriad New Phones Feature FPC Fingerprint Biometrics

Fingerprint Cards has placed fingerprint sensors in a slew of new smartphones from leading mobile manufacturers. The new phones include the Kyocera Duraforce Pro2, which features the FPC1145, and the Redmi 7, which boasts the FPC1511. The FPC1511 has also been integrated into a trio of smartphones from Huawei, including the Huawei Y7 2019, the Huawei Y6, and the Huawei Enjoy 9e.

The new phones offer yet more evidence of Fingerprint Cards’s ongoing success in the mobile biometrics market. The company’s sensors have already appeared in numerous phones in the past few months, including another pair of new phones from Huawei and an extensive slate of phones from Xiaomi, Oppo, LG, and Sharp.

Of course, Fingerprint Cards has also been making a concerted effort to expand its portfolio beyond smartphones in the past year, and is increasingly becoming known as a supplier of fingerprint sensors for biometric cards. The fingerprint specialist recently formed a new partnership with FutureCard, while the UK’s NatWest Bank is currently conducting a new payment card trial with cards featuring FPC sensors.

The latest news indicates that FPC will continue to support its thriving mobile business as it continues to explore other applications of its technology.
