New Netverify Integration to Verify Job Applicants' Right to Work in UKWhile Jumio has seen tremendous excitement over its Netverify authentication platform from the financial services industry, and the company was naturally on hand to discuss it FinTech applications and its big FaceTec integration at this year’s Money20/20 event in Las Vegas, it’s also celebrating a major new project in a different sector this week. Jumio has partnered with Engage, the UK-based provider of an online hiring platform.

The companies are going to work together on leveraging Jumio’s technology to confirm job applicants’ right to work status in the UK, where such checks are mandatory and resource intensive. As the companies explained in announcing their partnership, UK employers are required to check job applicants’ identity documents as they are presented, to copy their documents, and to retain them, while the legal consequences of hiring illegal workers are severe – a $20,000 fine per infraction, and potentially up to five years in prison if illegal workers were knowingly hired.

The plan is to adapt Jumio’s selfie-based authentication technology to Engage’s hiring process. Applicants will receive email or text messages linking them to special URLs where they can upload selfies and pictures of their identity documents, which can then be matched against each other using Jumio’s facial recognition and document reading technology.

The project is the latest example of the versatility of Jumio’s Netverify platform, which has proven highly popular across a wide range of clients and helped to establish Jumio as a leading solutions provider in the booming field of selfie-based authentication.
