NEXT Biometrics Announces New Chief Sales and Marketing Officer

July 9, 2018

“Alain Faburel’s leadership, background and experience will strengthen our ability to deliver outstanding technology to customers in the smart card, government ID, access control and notebook markets.” – Ritu Favre, CEO, NEXT Biometrics

NEXT Biometrics Announces New Chief Sales and Marketing Officer

NEXT Biometrics continues to bulk up on the personnel front as the company pursues opportunities in the emerging biometric payment cards market. The company has announced that former IDEMIA executive Alain Faburel is its new Chief Sales and Marketing Officer.

Faburel comes to the company with a strong background in sales and marketing, as well as smart cards. He ended an almost ten-year run with Gemalto as that company’s SVP of sales for southern and eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and proceed to work as a smart card sales strategist and SVP for CPS Technologies from 2010 to 2011, and as the head of Crocus Technology’s security business unit from 2011 to 2015.

From there, he landed at IDEMIA, where he was VP of “pre-sales for powered cards,” according to a statement from NEXT Biometrics. “In this position, he was responsible for promoting next generation payment cards (including biometric smart cards), leading sales processes and forecasts, and driving business agreements with end-customers and IT partners,” the company asserted.

That bodes well for Faburel’s work with NEXT Biometrics, among whose top priorities is the biometric cards market, where its fingerprint sensor technology offers compelling applications. The company has been reorganizing its corporate structure in recent months as part of its effort to scale up to launch solutions in multiple markets, promoting its Engineering VP to Chief Operating Officer, appointing a new VP of Operations, and, most recently, establishing an Asia Pacific Sales and China General Manager, William Yu.

It now appears that Yu will report to Faburel, who NEXT says will head an integrated sales unit comprising regional leaders focused on the Americas, EMEA, India, and APAC regions.
