Nok Nok Labs has officially announced the next version of its S3 Authentication Suite, slated to launch next month.
The biggest new feature of the platform is its support for custom account recovery methods. Administrators will now be able to assign particular policies for their end users in the event of revoked account access, and to leverage different authentication mechanisms for account recovery including One-Time Passwords via email or SMS, or selfie authentication using mobile facial recognition that can match users against pictures of official identity documents.
In a statement announcing the newest S3 Authentication Suite, Nok Nok Labs Engineering VP Naga Nagarajan said his firm “has been at the forefront of addressing the authentication needs of global organizations for years,” and asserted that strong account recovery is a vital component of strong authentication. “Today’s announcement is another step towards meeting the security needs of our customers and their end users, so they can focus on delivering their vital services without having to worry about passwords or the possibility of sensitive information being hacked or stolen,” he said.
The announcement comes after Nok Nok Labs attained FIDO2 certification for the S3 Authentication Suite in September, making it the first fully-compliant FIDO universal server with respect to all of the FIDO Alliance’s specifications. That achievement was a testament to Nok Nok Labs’ dedication to improving its flagship authentication platform, as is its latest announcement concerning the next big upgrade.
