OnShift has released a contactless timekeeping solution that was designed to replace more traditional time clocks in the healthcare industry. In that regard, OnShift Time can be deployed on a centralized tablet, or on an employee’s personal mobile device for added convenience.
Once the software has been installed, employees simply need to use the app to take a selfie to clock in or clock out at work. OnShift Time uses facial recognition to verify the identities of people using the system.
“OnShift Time gives our staff a modern, contactless experience, while providing the real-time, actionable workforce management insights we need to reduce excess labor costs and streamline payroll processes,” said Signature HealthCARE HRIS Director Ben Bartoszek. Signature is an OnShift client and one of the earliest adopters of the new timekeeping platform.
“Traditional approaches to workforce management are no longer effective,” added OnShift CEO Mark Woodka. “The addition of OnShift Time to our human capital management platform advances our commitment to the post-acute healthcare industry by delivering an exceptional employee experience through modern and purpose-built software solutions.”
According to OnShift, the new software will eliminate shared touch points and help lower the threat of COVID-19 in post-acute care and senior living centers. The company noted that there is a strong demand for safer screening technology in the healthcare industry, citing a recent survey of healthcare professionals in which 65 percent of the respondents identified COVID-19 as one of the most pressing challenges facing healthcare workers.
OnShift is not the first biometric timekeeping solution to emerge in the past few months. Iris ID recently released its iris-based IrisTime attendance tracker, while Paylocity released a biometric time clock that supplements its facial recognition technology with thermal screening to identify anyone with a fever. Qopper has also released a new Temperature Kiosk that can be integrated into existing Workplace Management Systems.
