“By offering products that are compliant with not only the Common Criteria international standard for IT security, but also the Qualified Signature Creation Device standards associated with eIDAS, OT-Morpho is helping to ensure that its security technology offers broad appeal across EU.”
OT-Morpho now has 10 Common Criteria certifications and 17 QSCD products in compliance with the European Union’s eIDAS regulation, the company has announced.
The regulation, which stands for electronic IDentification, Authentication, and trust Services’, came into effect last summer. It outlines standards for electronic authentication, and is meant to help facilitate the development of the EU’s Digital Single Market by establishing greater trust in transnational online transactions.
By offering products that are compliant with not only the Common Criteria international standard for IT security, but also the Qualified Signature Creation Device standards associated with eIDAS, OT-Morpho is helping to ensure that its security technology offers broad appeal across EU. Other companies such as Gemalto and Spain-based Biometric Vox have sought to turn the regulation into a market opportunity, pitching their compliant solutions to prospective EU clients.
In a statement, OT-Morpho EVP Jessica Westerouen suggested that the certifications demonstrate that “OT-Morpho is the key partner to deploy mobile and electronic identity and trust services.”
