“In its announcement of the leadership changes, Precise Biometrics did not offer a reason for previous CEO Håkan Persson’s resignation, which has taken ‘immediate effect.'”
Precise Biometrics‘ CEO has abruptly stepped down, with a senior executive from Danish home electronics maker Bang & Olufsen to take the helm this summer.
In the meantime, CFO Göran Thuresson will act as an interim CEO, with assistance from Torgny Hellström as Executive Chairman. On August 1st, BO Home EVP Stefan K Persson will become Precise Biometrics’ official new CEO. Prior to his work with Bang & Olufsen, Persson had held position with Ericsson, Sony Ericsson, and Sony Mobile Communications. He is also a board member of TerraNet, a Sweden-based M2M communications specialist.
In its announcement of the leadership changes, Precise Biometrics did not offer a reason for previous CEO Håkan Persson’s resignation, which has taken “immediate effect.” But Hellström commented that “Håkan has during his time as CEO reshaped Precise Biometrics to a largely new company, and we thank him for his significant contributions.”
Håkan Persson led Precise Biometrics during the mobile revolution of the last several years, which saw the company’s biometric algorithm software integrated into a wide range of smartphones and tablets.
