“Robert brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of our technology platform to our expanding global customer base.” – André Løvestam, CEO, Zwipe
A longtime NEXT Biometrics executive has now become Zwipe‘s Chief Technology Officer.
Dr. Robert Mueller – no, not that Robert Mueller – is renowned in the world of fingerprint biometrics. He joined NEXT Biometrics in 2010, holding many executive positions in that company, ending his career with the fingerprint sensor specialist as its Chief Technology Officer. And even before that, Mueller worked for another authentication expert, Giesecke & Devrient, for ten years.
Now, in his new position with Zwipe, Mueller will lead a Munich-based R&D hub delving into “biometrics, algorithms, payment card integration, enrolment solutions and product management,” according to a statement announcing Mueller’s appointment. Biometric payment cards in particular have been a key focus for Zwipe over the past year, with the company being one of multiple industry players anticipating a boom in this emerging market as financial services organizations prepare to move forward with real-world deployments of fingerprint-scanning cards.
Commenting on Mueller’s appointment, Zwipe CEO André Løvestam lauded Mueller for his “wealth of experience and knowledge”, adding that he “will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of our technology platform to our expanding global customer base.”
