Secret Double Octopus continues to build out its executive team, officially announcing the appointment of Horacio Zambrano as its new Chief Marketing Officer.
Zambrano comes to the company from a previous position with TruU, another passwordless authentication company that has a strong focus on biometrics. In that role, Zambrano asserts that he helped to drive a threefold increase in TruU’s monthly website traffic and that he won three industry awards for designing a passwordless solution.
Before that, Zambrano also held senior-level roles with cybersecurity startups including Virsec, Mocana, and OPSWAT, and he has served in product management roles with Cisco and Juniper. Zambrano also has some experience in the finance sector, having served as a VP for Wedbush Securities and as a VP and Senior Research Associate for Jefferies earlier in his career.
In his new role with Secret Double Octopus, Zambrano has been tasked with enhancing its marketing effectiveness and brand recognition as the companies seeks to keep building momentum with respect to interest in its post-password authentication solutions. Excitement about the company and its portfolio, which includes its FIDO2-certified Octopus Authentication Server, helped to raise $15 million in a Series B funding round earlier this year.
The announcement of Zambrano’s appointment arrives after Secret Double Octopus’s hire of a new Vice President of Global Sales earlier this year, with CEO Raz Rafaeli calling him “another important strong addition” to Secret Double Octopus’s leadership team.
“Horacio’s unique blended experience as a former Wall Street analyst with marketing experience in both large and startup companies, will bring a fresh high-scale perspective to the company,” Rafaeli said. “In addition, Horacio’s deep expertise in the passwordless market, will strengthen our industry leadership position and accelerate the company growth and expansion.”
