GetGo, a Singaporean car-sharing service, has opted to use Jumio’s selfie-based onboarding solution to verify customers who are creating new accounts or requesting a new vehicle. Customers need only to upload a selfie and an image of government-issued ID to get verified.
In addition to improving the customer onboarding process, Jumio’s solution – which can reliably verify over 5,000 types of ID from around the world – can also help GetGo to guard against potential theft. That’s an important consideration given that the company operates a fleet of more than 1,700 vehicles.
“Jumio’s facial verification technology allows GetGo to simultaneously raise its trust and safety standards while enhancing its customer onboarding experience,” attested GetGo Group Product Lead Lionel Fong, adding that his organization anticipates “a long-term partnership” with the identity services provider.
The announcement of Jumio’s partnership with GetGo comes after last month’s news that Keyless had teamed up with Jumio to add selfie-based authentication to its passwordless login platform. Whereas Keyless is based in London, GetGo’s status as a leading car sharing platform based in Singapore, further attesting to California-based Jumio’s global reach.
“We are proud to work with GetGo to put the freedom to drive in their customers’ hands,” commented Frederic Ho, Jumio’s VP of the Asia Pacific region.
