Signicat Eyes Global Expansion with New Chairman and CEO

January 13, 2020

Biometrics News - Signicat Eyes Global Expansion with New Chairman and CEO

Signicat is making some changes in the executive suite as it moves forward with its plans for global expansion. The company has announced that Asger Hattel has been appointed as the company’s new CEO, while Johan Tjärnberg has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Board.

Though he is stepping down from his executive position, current CEO and Signicat co-founder Gunnar Nordseth will still remain with the company as a shareholder, and will have an active hand in future business development. Hattel previously served as the CEO of Nets Merchant Services, while Tjärnberg is a special advisor at Ingenico Group and the former CEO of Bambora.

“Signicat is on a fast-growing journey to expand internationally and strengthen its position in the Nordic and broader international markets,” said Nordseth. “I want to hand the reins to a leader with greater experience in international expansion, and in scaling the business to the benefit of current and future customers.”

The news comes shortly after Signicat formed partnerships with Twikey and SurePay to facilitate digital payments in Belgium and the Netherlands. The digital identity specialist has also added electronic signature capabilities through a partnership with Swisscom.

Hattel officially took over as CEO on January 8.
