Smart Goggle Syncs Swimming Metrics With Apple Health

October 29, 2021

FINIS Inc., a California-based designer of products for swimmers, has announced that its FINIS Smart Goggle wearable will now be able to sync directly with the Apple Health App.

Smart Goggle Syncs Swimming Metrics With Apple Health

The integration between the smart wearable and Apple Health will mean that swimmers will now be able to track their workouts in real-time, while also being able to share results with friends or trainers, without the need to wear a smartwatch during their swimming sessions.

The FINIS Smart Goggle, a wearable swim goggle, contains a heads-up-display that allows wearers to see their splits, set times, rest times, and other results in real-time without obstructing their field of view while swimming.

The metrics recorded by the Smart Goggle offer in-depth performance reviews for the wearer, and through its companion app, the device can export workout data into a CSV file for better long-term tracking of fitness and training sessions.

“The Apple Health app is one of the most popular activity tracking tools for managing daily workout and health metrics,” said John Mix, co-founder of FINIS, Inc. “The integration of our FINIS Smart Goggle with Apple Health will provide iPhone and Apple Watch users around the globe with a comprehensive dashboard of all their activities and make this information easily accessible at their fingertips.”

Though smart glasses are becoming increasingly common and crowded with every passing year, the same cannot be said for smart goggles designed specifically for swimming.

The newfound compatibility with Apple Health could go a long way in helping draw attention to this market, as it extends the roster of devices they can track FINIS Smart Goggle wearers’ aquatic workouts to any iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad or other Apple device that features the Apple Health app.
