A Slovakian commercial bank is now taking advantage of biometric technology from Innovatrics for customer onboarding.

Tatra Banka is using Innovatrics’ Digital Onboarding Toolkit, or DOT. The solution is part of a wave of selfie-based authentication technologies that combine document reading with facial recognition to verify the identities of end users. For its part, DOT also features a liveness detection system that requires users to follow a moving dot on their device display while the system tracks their eye movements.

Tatra Banka is using the solution both for customer onboarding and for mobile account access, with the bank’s General Director, Michal Liday, explaining in a statement that “up to 30% of the total number of newly opened accounts, and more than 50% of accounts opened by students, are created using digital onboarding.”

Innovatrics says its DOT solution has delivered both security and efficiency, asserting, “This innovative approach employing facial biometrics not only is secure in authentication and verification, but also results in saving time for clients by up to 70% against standard bank operations.”
