TECH5 has delivered liveness detection technology to Namirial SAS, the company has announced, marking the latest illustration of its importance in selfie-based identity verification.
Namirial offers a digital trust services platform that includes a remote identity verification system developed by Netheos, a French firm acquired by Namirial in 2021. In a statement announcing the integration of TECH5’s technology, the latter explained that France’s National Cyber Security Agency (ANSSI) is now actively evaluating and certifying the quality of remote identity verification services, prompting the need for a robust security in the form of a liveness solution for Namirial SAS’s face-based onboarding system.
“When we at Namirial SAS were building our video identification solution, we needed to integrate a Liveness Detection technology,” explained Namirial SAS’s CTO and Deputy Managing Director, David Emo. “After searching the market, we identified TECH5 as a potential partner. From the beginning, the discussions were very straightforward, and TECH5 provided us with all the support we needed.”
Emo went on to laud TECH5 for its “highly efficient” solution, noting that it has passed the iBeta Level 2 Presentation attack Detection test. This is the highest level of testing offered under iBeta’s Presentation Attack Detection evaluation program, which subjects participating liveness detection solutions to sophisticated spoofing attacks that can involve silicone masks and video replays.
For TECH5, the partnership represents an opportunity to further elevate its profile in important markets, according to Andy Gray, the company’s VP of Sales and Business Development for Europe. “This partnership solidifies TECH5’s position and offering in France, where legislation mandates the use of such technologies, and for the European digital onboarding and verification market,” he said.
The partnership’s announcement comes after last month’s news that TECH5 had teamed up with Visa, a significant development that will see it work with the financial giant on “digital government ecosystems” across multiple countries going forward.
