The Ticket Bank Uses Yoti Tech for Secure Authentication

The Ticket Bank Uses Yoti Tech for Secure Authentication

Yoti is providing secure authentication services for a new charity working to make the arts more accessible. The charity in question is called The Ticket Bank, and it gathers spare tickets to events like concerts, sporting events, and the theatre, and then distributes them to disadvantaged individuals who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford them.

“I’m so pleased to share our vision of making events more charitable and inclusive,” said Ticket Bank Co-Founder and CEO Steve Rimmer. “Our mission is to help event organisers, sponsors and performers optimise for diversity and inclusion, so that everyone in the community can benefit from social responsibility.”

According to Yoti, the concept for The Ticket Bank partnership emerged after Tickets for Good participated in a Yoti hackathon. The organization has since donated more than 750 tickets, while 275 charities have registered with the platform since it was launched 18 months ago.

Yoti’s biometric selfie authentication tech provides password-free authentication for the Ticket Bank website, and also ensures that the tickets make their way to verified individuals who will gain the most benefit from the service.

The Ticket Bank is a relatively novel concept, but it is in keeping with Yoti’s broader interest in charitable activities. The company recently launched a Fellowship Programme designed to get new perspectives on digital identity, and has previously conducted research on the digital needs of charitable organizations in the UK. Partnerships with charities like The Ticket Bank could help Yoti overcome the resistance to digital tools that was uncovered by that particular study.
