Neil MacDonald is taking over as Sequent’s new Vice President of Sales and General Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Sequent is a data security specialist with a platform that tokenizes Personally Identifiable Information (PII). The process makes that information useless to hackers and other cybercriminals, and can be used to protect everything from bank accounts to personal IDs while on the move.
As the new VP and EMEA GM, MacDonald will oversee the company’s global expansion as it searches for new partnerships with financial services providers around the world, and in the EMEA region in particular. The region has displayed a strong interest in secure payments technology, with companies like FutureCard and Alhamrani working to update the financial infrastructure.
“With over 20 years of regional sales and marketing experience in mobile and security technologies, Neil is well-positioned to leverage key relationships and build new ones with payment industry partners, issuing banks, payment processing and network providers,” said Sequent Chief Revenue and Customer Officer John Kirst.
MacDonald also has a proven track record as a startup executive. He guided six different startups to successful exits over the course of a ten-year period, with an additional stop at SwiftKey that led to its acquisition by Microsoft.
