Identity specialist Trulioo has announced five new customers in the remittance sector for its GlobalGateway real-time identity verification solution, which will aim to help authenticate individuals looking to transfer money around the world.
The latest companies to adopt GlobalGateway with the aim of helping them adhere with the variety of compliance requirements, prevent fraud, and make online financial transactions safer are Sokin, Bano Financial, Global66, SwapMoney and Supersonicz.
“With more remittance transfers made digitally than ever before, we are excited to partner with these innovative companies and help them overcome the challenges of meeting regional and local compliance while enabling safe and low cost options for the senders and recipients of remittances,” said Steve Munford, CEO of Trulioo.
This announcements builds on what has been a busy period for Trulioo after the company officially attained tech unicorn status in June of this year following a Series D funding round during which it raised an impressive $394 million.
Shortly after the funding announcement, Trulioo made a move to strengthen its presence in Africa, bringing GlobalGateway to Kenya where it is positioned to help the country with the aggressive digital transformation it is currently undertaking in an effort to reach middle-income status by the year 2030 through its Kenya Vision program.
In addition to its work with GlobalGateway, Trulioo has also been a voice of caution during the COVID-19 pandemic, arguing that biometrics have the potential to be the key to helping financial institutions cope with the increased rates of fraud brought on by the growth in online traffic during the pandemic.
