Vivo Unveils NEX 3 Line of 5G Smartphones

Vivo Unveils NEX 3 Line of 5G Smartphones

Vivo is releasing a new line of smartphones designed specifically for the burgeoning 5G ecosystem. The NEX 3 Series will be available in 4G and 5G versions, and is expected to hit shelves in the APAC region and elsewhere in the next few months.

The new series features a slew of impressive features, including a POLED Waterfall FullView display that curves around the edges of the phone and offers touch control with a haptic motor that simulates physical buttons. The phone sports a 16MP elevating front camera in addition to its primary rear-mounted triple camera with Portrait Master’s Hyper-HDR.

The main selling point, however, is the phone’s 5G functionality. The NEX 3 5G is built with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 Plus, offering high download speeds, low latency, and strong multitasking capabilities. The phone also features a super capacity battery and a vapor chamber cooling system to optimize its performance.

“The NEX 3 series offers one of the best all-around flagship devices available today – and is leading the smartphone industry into a new stage of exploration in the 5G era,” said vivo SVP Spark Ni.

For security, vivo is continuing to offer support for in-display biometrics and has added an in-display fingerprint scanner to the NEX 3 phone. The new 5G phone was teased at MWC Shanghai, and stands as an attempt to deliver on the bold promises that Vivo made at the event.
