Zwipe has announced a new Chief Financial Officer. Lars Kristian Solheim will take the position starting March 1st of 2020, when he will replace interim CFO Lars Myren.
In a statement announcing the new executive’s appointment, Zwipe highlighted his relevant experience. After serving as a Senior Associate at the audit firm Ernst & Young, Solheim went on to become CFO of Telia Norge, a position he held for six years before serving briefly as the company’s Head of M&A and Corporate Development. Solheim most recently held senior positions supporting the financial and business operations of the Scandinavian bank DNB’s IT unit.
“Mr. Solheim has a solid track record of CFO and top management positions within the auditing, telecom and financial sectors,” Zwipe’s announcement asserted, adding later that Solheim “has extensive experience in the areas of M&A, financial governance and business planning.”
The new hire comes just a couple of weeks after Zwipe’s announcement that it would cut staff and seek to reduce other operational expenses as part of a streamlining program that CEO André Løvestam framed as an effort to help the company focus on the development of new biometric payment card solution in collaboration with IDEMIA. Solheim will presumably oversee much of the financial side of this process, as well as the anticipated gains Zwipe expects from its role in the growing biometric cards market.
