Zwipe‘s executive team has a new appointee with considerable experience in the payments sector.
Marcio Stervid, the company’s new VP of Strategic Partnerships and Alliances, comes to Zwipe from a previous role as the head of Strategic Partnerships for secure payment solutions provider AltaPay, a position he held for just under a year and a half. Before that, he served for a year and 10 months as the Head of Financial Services and Strategic Channels for Verifone’s UKI division; and earlier in his career he spent well over five years as Gemalto’s Head of Business Development and Sales, after a two-and-a-half year stint as its VP of Marketing for Northern Europe.
In a statement announcing Stervid’s appointment to the Zwipe team, the company asserted that he has accumulated 28 years of experience in executive positions. “He has worked predominantly in the payments industry with specific commercial and industrial expertise in issuing, acquiring, transaction processing and omnichannel services and solution sales,” the company said.
Stervid’s appointment as VP of Strategic Partnerships and Alliances is the latest top-level administrative change that could help the company to better promote its biometric card technology, with the emerging market showing a high degree of complexity in terms of the coordination required between organizations such as banks, card issuers, manufacturers, sensor makers, and so on.
