“We are excited to collaborate with Zwipe, a pioneer in the field of biometric payment cards, to promote and roll out the Zwipe Pay ONE platform that will radically reduce the cost and complexity associated with card production process.” – Pietro Parmeggiani, Managing Director, Liveo Research
Zwipe has announced another new Italy-based partner to aid in its efforts to establish supply chain infrastructure for its biometric payment card platform, Zwipe Pay.
The Norwegian firm’s new ally is Castiglione-based Liveo Research, described as a provider of PVC materials to some of the world’s biggest card manufacturers. While the firm is based in Italy, it has a staff of 1,100 spread across Germany, Singapore, China, and the US. It’s a major player, in other words, with annual sales exceeding 350 million euros.
In a statement announcing the partnership, Zwipe described it as “key in supporting the ongoing industrialization of the Zwipe Pay family of products.”
“This showcases how Zwipe is leveraging the payment ecosystem’s key players to enable best-in-class solutions and grow the biometric payment card segment,” commented Zwipe CEO André Løvestam. “Liveo Research is a strong stakeholder and working together we will be able to further strengthen the value proposition to smart card manufacturers.”
For Liveo Research’s part, the company’s Managing Director, Pietro Parmeggiani, said his firm will work with Zwipe “to promote and roll out the Zwipe Pay ONE platform that will radically reduce the cost and complexity associated with card production process.”
The partnership’s announcement comes less than a month after the news that Zwipe had teamed up with another Italian firm, Publicenter, a major domestic smart card maker. Given its prominence, Publicenter itself may have had a preexisting relationship with Liveo Research; in any case, the two are part of a larger partner network that Zwipe has been developing in its efforts toward commercialization of its biometric payment card technology.
