Zwipe Pay ONE Supports TietoEVRY’s Biometric Payment Solutions

October 9, 2020

Zwipe will be helping TietoEVRY develop a new biometric payments solution that will be deployed in both wearables and biometric payment cards. TietoEVRY is a Nordic software provider that specializes in digital banking services.

Zwipe Pay ONE Supports TietoEVRY's Biometric Payment Solutions

The new joint solution will leverage Zwipe’s Pay ONE Platform, which comes with the operating system and software needed to build a biometric secure element. Zwipe will assist TietoEVRY with technical support, while also advising the company on best practices for biometric card integration and enrollment and helping banks deploy those services for their customers.

The two companies indicated that the new biometric payment cards will help meet the growing demand for more hygienic and more secure payment options. TietoEVRY will source cards through its network of manufacturers.

“Together, we will support banks to roll-out biometric payment cards and wearables at scale,” said TietoEVRY Card Production and Personalization Head Jarmo Rouhiainen. “From recent discussions with issuers, we already see broad interest for such innovations. Clearly, now is the time to take action.”

“TietoEVRY’s deep relations with a large number of banks in the Nordics, Baltics and beyond will acclerate the deployment of next generation contactless payments,” added Zwipe  CEO André Løvestam.

Zwipe integrated fingerprint sensors from IDEX Biometrics into the Pay ONE platform earlier this year. The company has also formed Pay ONE partnerships with Watchdata and Cardmatix.
