Nok Nok Labs, Persistent Systems Collaborate on Easy Authentication for Apps

Nok Nok Labs and enterprise software specialist Persistent Systems have teamed up to reduce friction in app-based login.

Nok Nok Labs, Persistent Systems Collaborate on Easy Authentication for AppsThe companies will work together to offer a Unified Authentication Infrastructure based on Nok Nok Labs’ authentication technology for web and mobile applications. That, in turn, is based on the increasingly influential standards of the FIDO Alliance, of which Nok Nok Labs is a co-founder.

In a statement announcing their collaboration, Nok Nok Labs and Persistent suggested that biometric authentication will play an important role in the joint solution. Nok Nok Labs founder Ramesh Kesanupalli said that biometrics “are, absolutely, unique to the user and offer a wonderful level of privacy,” offering the examples of “a blink into a camera, touch on a fingerprint sensor, or spoken phrase into the microphone”; and the companies mentioned an agreement Persistent announced last month that would give it licensing rights to technology from USAA, which has itself placed a heavy emphasis on biometric authentication for its customers.

In any case, the authentication solution’s adherence to FIDO standards should help to burnish its credibility when it’s ready for enterprise clients.
