“The Cognitive Authentication platform powers a specific Single Sign-On solution called “It’sMe”, which is designed to operate across mobile devices, web browsers, and enterprise applications.”
Portland-based authentication startup Acceptto has officially launched, announcing its new Cognitive Authentication platform.
The company says that its platform is based on machine learning, and that it’s designed to replace password-based authentication with behavioral biometrics. The Cognitive Authentication platform powers a specific Single Sign-On solution called “It’sMe”, which is designed to operate across mobile devices, web browsers, and enterprise applications.
With Acceptto now having emerged from “stealth mode” with its official launch, the company appears to be aiming its authentication solutions primarily at the healthcare market, at least to start. Acceptto says it has just closed a series-A funding round led by Aetna Ventures, the VC arm of a major health insurance company; and it has appointed Aetna’s Chief Security Officer to its Board of Directors. The company is also showcasing its technology this week at H-ISAC 2018, an event focused on digital and physical security in healthcare.
Acceptto, which received FIDO certification at the start of this past summer, did not disclose the amount of capital raised in its series-A funding round, but noted that it was also led by Millennium Technology Value Partners and Celeres Capital.
